Since 2007, we at Holtab have been committed to supporting a range of development projects in Nepal. Over the years, our efforts have made a difference for more and more people — from entire villages to individuals. Together with local partners, we’ve helped bring electricity to rural communities, build earthquake-resistant homes, and support women taking their first steps as entrepreneurs.
Our team regularly travels to Nepal to contribute on the ground — a hands-on commitment that creates real impact for both people and communities.

Holtab’s commitment makes a difference — that was clear to the four employees who spent three weeks in Nepal this autumn. At the same time, many people continue to live under extremely difficult conditions.
Himal Sapkota dreams of developing tourism and entrepreneurship in his home country Nepal. As part of Holtab’s commitment to community engagement, he has been given the opportunity to spend eight weeks in the Nordics.
For many years, Holtab has been helping to build power networks, schools, and health clinics in rural villages across Nepal. At the heart of it all is Ram Sapkota – a local driving force who makes sure the support reaches the right places and truly makes a difference.
During this year’s Holtab journey to Nepal, one of the main objectives was to check in on two entirely new projects. In the remote and impoverished region of Jajarkot, two schools have been built for children following last year’s earthquake.
Throughout the sixteen years of Holtab's involvement in Nepal, there has been a noticeable improvement for the people.
"I am pleased with the positive development. A lot has truly happened," says Gordon Gunnarsson, Holtab's Technical manager, who visited for the sixth time in November.
