We chose the electrical industry – and found a home at Holtab

Since 2021, Holtab, in collaboration with Montico, has opened a new pathway into the electrical industry through our electrician training program for women. Now in its fifth year, the program has already led several participants to permanent positions – and today, they’re our colleagues.
Here, Linda, Sara, Sara, and Julia share their journeys – the leap they took, what they’ve learned, and what it feels like to find the right path, both professionally and personally, at Holtab.

Linda Blomster: “I wanted a change”

After several years in the food industry, Linda Blomster knew it was time for something new.

“It was physically demanding work with a lot of repetitive tasks. I wanted a profession where I could use both my hands and my head in a more varied way.”

Her interest in technology was already there – and when she found Montico’s training program, everything clicked.

“The internship at Holtab was a real boost – I felt welcome from day one. I got to try different tasks and met colleagues who were happy to share their knowledge. Now it feels fantastic to be part of Holtab.”

Sara Wihlborg: “I wanted more hands-on work”

Sara Wihlborg left an administrative job in the public sector for something completely different. A recruitment event hosted by Holtab sparked her interest.

“I wanted to learn something new and work more practically. During the internship, I got great insight into the role – and a lot of what I learned then helped me through the rest of the training.”

Today, she’s been working at Holtab for two years.

“It’s a varied job and we have a great time together. I’m still learning something new every week. I’ve never once regretted changing careers.”

Sara Rosenqvist: “I wanted to leave healthcare”

After years as an assistant nurse in home care, Sara Rosenqvist was ready for a change – and better working hours. She joined the training program in April 2023 and graduated in February 2024.

“I wanted to leave the healthcare field and its irregular hours, and try something new. The internship at Holtab was amazing – I felt at home right away.”

So how does she feel now?
“Fantastic. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. This is such a fun profession – and I keep learning every day.”

Julia Bång: “I’m so glad I dared to do it”

Julia Bång also worked as an assistant nurse in home care. While on parental leave, a colleague tipped her off about the training program – and she decided to go for it.

“I didn’t want to go back to irregular shifts in healthcare. I needed something that worked better with family life – and this turned out to be the perfect fit.” The program gave her a solid foundation, and the internship at Holtab helped build her confidence.

“It feels good every day. We have an amazing team spirit, and the work is both varied and rewarding. I’m so glad I took the leap.”
