Håvard strengthens Holtab in Norway
Håvard Øvsthus is Holtab’s new Strategic Account Manager in Norway. With extensive experience in the Norwegian energy sector and specialist knowledge of power solutions for data centres, he will help customers.

Based in Bergen on Norway’s west coast, Håvard will work alongside Country Manager Ken Isaksen. Together, they will introduce Holtab and its power solutions to more customers across Norway.
Demand for power is high, and in larger projects both grid connection and getting the project under way can take time. Bringing an experienced power solutions provider on board at an early stage can therefore be a real advantage – helping to outline solutions, prepare technical documentation and move the project forward.
‘We have innovative products with a high level of personal safety, as well as experience from many similar projects. This means we can get involved early, look at the bigger picture and help the customer find the right way forward. Holtab also has short decision-making processes and a high degree of flexibility.’

Major opportunities in data centres
Data centres are one area where Håvard sees significant opportunities for Holtab. Projects often have tight schedules and substantial power requirements. At the same time, the power solutions need to be scalable as operations grow.
‘Holtab’s technical buildings, also known as e-houses, are an excellent fit. They are prefabricated, modular solutions that can be connected to create large and complex substations. We are also manufacturer-independent, giving customers considerable freedom to adapt the solution to their specific needs.’
Holtab has three factories in Sweden where secondary substations and technical buildings are built and tested before delivery. This reduces the amount of work required on site and makes installation easier.
‘Plug and play makes the process both efficient and safe. Everything is built in a controlled factory environment.’
Closer to customers
Håvard grew up in Bergen and lives on Askøy, just outside the city. He has worked with power throughout his career, including managing the operations department of a grid company, with responsibility for the distribution network and emergency preparedness. He has also worked with sales of secondary substations and switchgear for an international company. Most recently, he worked as a project manager and adviser focusing on data centres.
‘I’ve worked with power from many different perspectives. I believe that experience will be valuable when we help our Norwegian customers,’ he says.
Holtab’s broad product range was an important reason why he chose to join the company.
‘Holtab has both the expertise and the solutions needed as demand for power continues to grow in Norway. I’m looking forward to helping develop our business here.’
