Cathrine: “We have a clear uniqueness – now we take the next step”
With standardisation as a guiding principle, Division Manager Cathrine Holmberg wants to take the next step in the development of Holtab’s secondary substations. The ambition is clear: strengthen the offering, improve operational flows and create solutions designed for the energy market of tomorrow.
“Holtab has a strong position and a clear uniqueness. I want to build on that and develop it further in a structured way,” she says.

As Division Manager for Product, Cathrine Holmberg is also part of Holtab’s management team. With 30 years of experience from industrial operations and strategic improvement work, she brings a broad perspective – from sales processes and engineering to production and delivery.
“What attracts me to Holtab is the combination of deep technical knowledge, flexibility and strong customer focus. We are very good at customer-adapted solutions, while also having great potential to further develop our standardised products. That creates value both for our customers and for our own efficiency.”
Flexibility and structure
The Product division is responsible for Holtab’s secondary substations and the self-designed low-voltage switchboard HMS – an offering that combines customised solutions with prefabricated products that are tested and ready for installation.
Quality and delivery reliability are essential as society’s demand for robust electrical infrastructure continues to grow.

The secondary substations are manufactured in three factories – in Tingsryd, Olofström and Lidhult – with a high degree of flexibility between the units.
A key part of the mission is to find the right balance between customer adaptation and standardisation.
“We must be able to deliver what customers need, but we also need processes that allow us to produce efficiently and with consistent quality. Standardisation is not about limiting us – it’s about creating stable flows and clear ways of working.”
“My leadership is based on staying close to the business and the team so that we develop a common understanding for workflows and work methods - in this way we can together identify the conditions needed to improve,” she says.
Diverse teams best
Holtab’s employees are a key part of the company’s development. Fitters are the division's largest professional group, and the management team within the division intends to continue building mixed teams with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.
“Diverse teams make us stronger. They lead to better decisions, higher quality and more sustainable solutions over time. Holtab works actively to attract both young people who are curious about the electrical industry and professionals who want to take a new career path.”
With a strong focus on improvement, Cathrine sees great potential in Holtab’s continued development.
“We have already shown that our offering works very well in the market. Now we have the opportunity to sharpen our structure further, increase the degree of standardisation where it makes sense – while still maintaining our ability to meet specific customer needs. It’s an exciting journey to be part of.”
