A sheet steel secondary substation provides greater possibilities for customisation, even if we also have an extensive portfolio of standard solutions. Sheet steel offers a resilient structure that is also lighter to transport.
With its many qualities, sheet steel is the obvious choice of construction material. Steel is cost effective, strong and pliable. It is an excellent material for building safe and robust secondary substations. When handled right, a sheet steel secondary substation provides more service life than required.
Our secondary substations are constructed with the highest priority for personal safety with plenty of space and well proven and back-mounted technology to ensure work with voltage is carried out in a secure manner. The stations have been tested according to IEC62271-202 type A and B to ensure electrical arc safety.
Sheet steel is 100% recyclable and is made entirely or in part of recycled material. Steel is an environmentally friendly, closed-loop material, which means it can be recycled without loss of quality.
Alternative solutions for 12-36 kV

Industrially built in the factory, including testing of live operational environment before delivery
The station’s material and surface treatment is crucially important to ensure correct ventilation and protection against condensation and corrosion. The sheet steel we use is either Aluminium-zinc or Magnelis. They work exceptionally well in tough environments where other surfaces fail. They are a good environmental choice, partly because they have a long life, but also because they are recyclable.
Sheet steel stations with steel foundations are made from Aluminium-zinc, AZ185.
Sheet steel stations with concrete bases are made of Magnelis, ZM310 (the part above ground) with a concrete base. This is recommended when there are particular requirements to seal off the ground.
You can choose exactly how you want the interior of the station to look. In certain cases air-insulated medium-voltage equipment is best, while RMU switchgear may possibly be a better solution. Choosing the construction of the station is an essential part of our offer and most importantly, our clients must feel secure in their choice of technical solutions.
